JOB: Assistant Professor, Museum Studies, Arcata, CA
Application deadline: Jan 10, 2018 Humboldt State University’s Department of Art invites applications for an academic year tenure-track faculty position in Museum Studies. We seek a candidate who is a teacher, scholar and practitioner to oversee the department’s interdisciplinary undergraduate Museum and Gallery Studies certificate program, develop related curriculum, and teach core program courses. We are looking to fill this position at the Assistant Professor rank; however, rank and salary are dependent on the appointee's qualifications and experience. Professional Qualifications: An earned PhD or equivalent in Art History, Visual Culture, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is preferred at the time of appointment. Applicants with considerable progress towards terminal degree completion by appointment date will be considered. Completion of terminal degree is required prior to the start of the second probationary year following initial appointment. Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence and to building a strong research record. Review of applications will begin on January 10th, 2018.
