Assistant Professor in Japanese Literature

The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations (http://ealc.uchicago.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Japanese literature of the modern to contemporary period. Candidates are expected to show native or near-native ability in Japanese. We welcome innovative scholarship that connects literary and cultural research to issues of broad cultural and historical importance. Completion of the Ph.D. by September 2011 is preferred.
